Golf Day

Event overview of the WIBA Charity Tournament 2015

The first golf event was held in March 2014, in which funds were raised for St Bernads Primary School in Ramotswa and Gakuto Primary School in Gaborone. This involved purchase of stationery for administration of both schools.

Another part of this initiative involved a donation of clothes for the underprivileged disabled children in Motsweding Rehabilitation Centre in Mochudi  These noble gesture couldn’t have possible without the involvement of our sponsors.

WIBA Charity Golf Challenge 2015

“Walk a mile in her shoes”

A call was made by the education authorities in which adolescent girls were running out of sanitary pads especially those residing in the outskirts of town.

Research reveals that women and girls are subjected to extreme poverty compared to their male counterparts. Adding to this burden is the tendencies of young girls missing out on school; or sometimes using unhygienic, harmful materials. This prompted WIBA to look for partnership with its members and the corporate entities. This initiative was graced by the Minister of Youth Sports and Culture Honourable Thapelo Olopeng at Gaborone Golf Club. WIBA would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the following:

A special thank you goes to our good will ambassador is Ms. Charity Nkgare; who donated clothes to the beneficiary, as well as offered to her mentoring and coaching services to the children involved.
