
Women in Business Association have announced their new National Executive Committee. Elections for this new committee were held on 22nd July 2017 during an Annual
General meeting held at Maharaja Conference centre, in Gaborone. The elections saw Ms Nametso Ntsosa-Carr emerge as the new President of the Association. Ms Carr has determined that in her term she intends on pursuing and achieving empowerment of women-businesses of all types, reaching out to female led and owned businesses throughout the country. She says it is important that the association elevates the voice of business women as a whole. Women who say, "We work hard, we build and we just
need an occasional helping hand to raise us to meet the opportunity" that _is what WIBA is there for. "I am grateful for the wonderful work of our . predecessors, now forward we go." she said During her address to the AGM, the outgoing President Ms ·Tumi Mbaakanyi communicated their achievement of the strategic plan during her two year tenure. She further emphasized commitment and passion to all members and encouraged them to participate more and to take ownership of the association in order to grow.Each of the ladies are strong busin.ess women_ who have walked their own entrepreneurship journeys. They have offered themselves to serve in this committee in order to impart some of their knowledge, experience and expertise with other business women,· share their stories to empower and inspire all.The mandate of WIBA is to inspire wealth creation and promote the participation of women in the economy through advocacy, training, mentoring and linkages.
